قالت شركة فودافون العالمية إنها تناقش دوراً في تقديم المشورة بشأن تصميم الشبكة بدلاً من تشغيلها في العراق.
وقالت الشركة في بيان لها، ان قسم أسواق الشركاء في فودافون يجري محادثات مع الحكومة العراقية بشأن عقد لتقديم المشورة بشأن تصميم شبكة الجيل الخامس. تخطط لها الحكومة.
وكان مجلس الوزراء، قرر، اختيار شركة فودافون العالمية لمشروع شبكة الاتصالات الوطنية بالجيل الخامس.
فيما قالت وزيرة الاتصالات، هيام الياسري،ان الوزارة وجهت عدداً من رسائل إبداء الإهتمام والدعوات إلى 22 شركة عالمية متخصصة بتشغيل شبكات الهاتف النقال الا ان بعضها اعتذرت بسبب الأحداث الأمنية في المنطقة وبعضها أبدت الرغبة للعمل بالعراق وكان من بينها شركة فودافون العالمية.
وأشارت إلى، ان شركة فودافون العالمية كانت الأقرب من معايير الاختيار كونها تملك الخبرة والماركة العالمية وهي متخصصة بتقنيات الجيل الخامس وناجحة بجميع الأسواق التي عملت بها ضمن مجال تخصصها في تشغيل شبكات الهاتف النقال” على حد قولها.
